And my are these two winning. Their wedding is fast approaching and we received a beautiful day downtown to do their engagement shoot. Considering that a day after their engagement shoot it has been raining, it definitely was a win. Danielle and Pierre, definitely took my “dress summer-ish but stylish” advice to heart. The swag level was way up there. I accidentally wore a sweater so I was sweating buckets on a 24 degree Celsius kind of day. LOL Regardless, fun was had, excitement for their wedding in September went up a notch, flags were bought, and awesomeness was captured. These are just some of my favorite photos from their shoot. AN AUTUMN ENGAGEMENT | SHAUN & MONA

Thankful and blessed….is how I feel. Shaun and Mona? In love and wedding day excitement is what they are feeling right at this moment. 4 more weeks until the big day, and we shot this last year during the months when the tress were turning into different colors. These are some of my favorites from their set, oh and the reason why I’m blessed? This is Melvin’s sister. Yup, that’s how we do at Red Lotus… Melvin and Christine were wed last year and I was there to witness the beauty of their unification as husband and wife, and I get to be there for this one too! WANNA MARRY ME LATER? | CARMELA & CHRIS

If I were to judge a book by its cover from a question of “wanna marry me later?” written on the groom’s Facebook wall from the bride, I would say these two were pretty relaxed on their wedding day. No stress whatsoever…But not judging a book by its cover, Carmela and Chris are in fact…extremely awesome, wacky, fun, laid back, and in love. Totally in love. Super duper mega hyper to the max in love. Their wedding day was a breeze for them.

They definitely compliment each other, look out for each other, and were born for one another. From their quirkiness to their sweetness, it all just fits so perfectly. No matter how fun the day was, and oh my was it fun! I captured so many great wacky moments but I cannot disregard how beautiful their day was too. We had a weather forecast of rain but it was Chris and Carmela’s time to get married, so the sun came out and held off the rain for their whole day. Chris was swagged up, and Carm defined what it meant to be a beautiful bride with ease. These two were just awesome, words cannot describe it.

I’ve known Carmela for a long time and she was there with me from the very beginning of my photography career. She followed my blog from my first baby post and I have no doubts that she checked up my post 2 weeks ago, and I’m sure she’ll be the first one to see her wedding post up. So this is my opportunity to say (while you’re on here), Carmela, I want to thank you for having me be a part of yours and Chris’s big wedding day. It was filled with fun, laughter, tears of joy, and great food. I took two cupcakes home and ate them…yup. And I would’ve taken more “Praire Girl Bakery” cupcakes but people were watching me…LOL. I wish you all the best, enjoy the honeymoon, enjoy everyday you have with Chris, and enjoy the photos. I’ll see you two soon.

MEETING MARLOWE

One of God’s greatest gifts to us is to be able to have children, and cute ones at that. A former awesome boss of mine from a company I used to work for a long long time ago called me up to do a photoshoot, and what kind? A baby shoot! I was surely surprised but knew it was in his cards to get to this moment. And upon meeting the little one, I knew she was his pride and joy. So getting back to the “Meeting” post each time it’s a baby, I would like to introduce, Marlowe! Curious each time she saw the big lens in her face, and patient enough to model for this ninja photographer. ^^

DOMINICAN BLISS | SAMANTHA & MIKE

Well well well, here we are once again. It’s been a while and I must admit, I have missed you interwebs. I feel like you’re a best friend that I haven’t seen in ages and we have so much to talk about. I’ve travelled and I’ve grown, I’ve met new people and tried the new types of food (even the spicy kind). Experienced culture through my camera and a new life because of it. What have you been up to? Have you been coming back looking for updates but have found none? For that, I must apologize. It is a new season and one to be excited about, so first I’m going to post up some of the new people I’ve met…Sam and Mike. Two cool people, met them while playing volleyball in Dominican and guess what I found out during one of Sam’s epic serves of destruction…they got engaged the night before…to a wonderful backdrop of friends skinny dipping. LOL. That in itself just concludes their awesomeness, that and Mike’s uber epic email address. Let’s just say it rhymes with snuffleufuguss. The good times we shared after the shoot as well will be times to be remembered for a lifetime.

Anyways back to their story? They’re both serving their country and in my eyes, that just hikes up their level of coolness by a hundred. Highest should be 100, and they were already at 99. Mike will say, he knew she was the one even before he started dating Samantha, and I will never ever doubt that. Just look at these two lovebirds! AMY GILMORE | REAL ESTATE

Hey everyone! So let’s step away from all these wedding photos for just a little bit shall we? I present to you Amy Gilmore. A real estate agent, THE real estate agent. I’ve been blessed to get to know a lot of very awesome people in different lines of careers. One thing we do when shooting any commercial work is to find words that can best describe their business. For Amy? The words that kept coming to mind were suave : displaying smoothness and sophistication in manner or attitude and urban : characteristic of city life. As much as Amy knew about houses we were very much intrigued with the vast knowledge she had about condominium’s. So we decided to make her shoot very fresh and urban while showing the professionalism that she shows 24/7. WASTING THE DAY | DEREK & LEIGH PART DEUX

Ok not really. This wedding may be one of the most detailed oriented weddings I’ve captured in a while. From the something old, something new, etc etc to the green laced chucks that Leigh had. And by the way she’s one of the coolest brides I’ve ever had the pleasure to photograph, she’s into roller derby. Hells ya. ^^ We wasted another day being calm, cool, and beautiful. We spend the day making memories. The first time we wasted a day was during our engagement session. CLICK HERE and HEREto check them out. I absolutely love it when a couple goes all out when it comes to details and the photography location for the formals. Makes our job much much much more easier. When I say our, I mean mine and yellow barn’s job. Yup you heard that right, Red Lotus and Yellow Barn totally owning this wedding. It was on like Megatron with the Bridesbutler.ca on site to keep things running smoothly. *high fives all around*

Now take note, we all got emotional throughout the different events of the day. There was laughter, excitement, intrigue, tears, and more tears. But more laughter, which is something that we all tend to forget to do during these memorable events. A good photographer friend of mine “Aron Goss” always says to his couples which I’ve in turn adopted and given as advice as well, “this day is going to go by so fast, so remember to enjoy it” Wise words from a wise man. *high five*

So I hope you guys enjoy the set, for I sure had a blast taking the photos. Oh and ya, two of their photos were submitted to a Bride and Groom magazine. Cant’ wait to show everybody. REMEMBER THEM?

Well, it’s been another long overdue post. Helen and Paul, one of if not my first couples that I shot a wedding for and they agreed to do a special one year shoot for me. AND guess what, it seemed as if they just got married yesterday. The things we do to walk down memory lane yet again, and it was quite awesome to just be able to do this with them. These photos are my fave from their set, but I wanted to thank their families for actually coming out to get in some family photos as well! T’was awesome. Enjoy

Their vows, one of the best vows we’ve ever heard. It truly had the whole Red Lotus crew in tears. Stephen almost dropped the jib crane. (kidding). So my edit may seem a bit different for the online edit, but I just had to focus on Christine and Melvin’s vows. I didn’t even place our logo at the end because it’s not about us…this is way bigger than Red Lotus. God Bless you two. We here at Red Lotus, wish you all the best in your journey through life together. We love you! I don’t want to write too much so I’ll end it with something that Christine said which had me in tears. “No matter what happens, no matter where we are, when you go away, I know we’ll be okay…” Melvin is part of our Canadian Troops. Enough said.
